New Bill Would Force Pennsylvanians to Pay More, End Protections for Pre-Existing Conditions, Fail to Combat Opioid Epidemic
Congressman Lou Barletta is standing in lockstep behind the GOP’s disastrous health care plan that would end protections for pre-existing conditions and force Pennsylvanians to pay more for care. The Senate plan forces older Pennsylvanians to pay up to five times more for health care and includes no funding to combat the opioid epidemic.
“Congressman Lou Barletta stands lockstep with the Congressional GOP effort to sabotage our health care system by skyrocketing premiums, forcing older Pennsylvanians to pay up to five times more, and ending protections for those with pre-existing conditions,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesman Max Steele. “Pennsylvanians with cancer, diabetes, asthma, and other common conditions will face massive surcharges for the care they need if Congressman Barletta gets his way.

Republicans are from the values and priorities of Pennsylvanians. The commonwealth doesn’t need another Senator who can only be counted on to look out for Washington special interests — no matter the consequences.”
