PENNSYLVANIA — The White House yesterday released a new report highlighting the impact on Pennsylvania of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, the largest long-term investment in our infrastructure and competitiveness in nearly a century.
The new report illustrates how President Biden’s historic legislation will deliver for the commonwealth to repair roads and bridges, improve transportation options, build a network of chargers to accelerate the adoption of electrical vehicles and help connect every Pennsylvanian to reliable high-speed internet.
Specifically, here’s what the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will deliver for Pennsylvania:
- at least $11.3 billion to repair Pennsylvania’s 7,540 miles of highway in poor condition.
- at least $1.6 billion to repair and replace Pennsylvania’s 3,353 bridges in poor condition.
- at least $2.8 billion to improve public transportation options across Pennsylvania, including the one in four public transit vehicles passed their useful life.
- at least $171 million for the expansion of an EV charging network in Pennsylvania.
- at least $100 million to help provide broadband coverage across the state, including providing access to the at least 394,000 Pennsylvanians who currently lack it.
- roughly 2.9 million Pennsylvanians will be eligible for the Affordability Connectivity Benefit, which will help low-income families afford internet access.
