ELECTEDS FROM PHILADELPHIA COLLAR COUNTIES ISSUE STATEMENT ON ROE V. WADE

PENNSYLVANIA — On the one week anniversary of the report that the Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, leaders from the counties surrounding Philadelphia, which includes Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, and Bucks County, are speaking out on the importance of protecting reproductive freedoms.

Congresswoman Madeleine Dean, State Senator Katie Muth, State Senator Maria Collett, and Minority Leader Joanna McClinton issued the following statement:

“Overturning Roe v. Wade would be a dangerous attack on reproductive freedoms that would put the lives of women across the country at risk. A woman’s right to have an abortion, use contraception, and access reproductive health care are fundamental to equality and liberty. Here in Pennsylvania, we refuse to go backwards and will always fight to protect abortion rights, contraception, and reproductive health care.”
