“LET THEM EAT CAKE” — JAKE CORMAN AND OUT-OF-TOUCH HARRISBURG REPUBLICANS SCHEDULE PANDEMIC RETREAT TO “BACHELOR” RESORT

Annual retreat will take place at a resort that advertises itself with the phrase “Let them eat cake”

PENNSYLVANIA — As Pennsylvania communities, businesses and families continue to make sacrifices to bear the brunt of the coronavirus pandemic, Jake Corman and Harrisburg Republicans continue to prove that they are hopelessly out of touch. According to a Spotlight PA report this morning, they have decided to hold their annual retreat at the upscale Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, one of the best-known luxury resorts in the commonwealth — so luxurious it was chosen as the setting for the most recent season of “The Bachelor.”

Here’s how the resort advertises itself: “Let them eat cake. From iconic rooms and suites to show-stopping dining – go ahead, take a bite.“

Lodging options at Nemacolin include “The Chateau,” “The Estates,” and “The Lodge.” It is unclear whether Harrisburg Republicans will partake in the Outdoor Sculpture Tour, Equestrian Adventures, or the Holistic Healing Center.

“I hope Jake Corman and Harrisburg Republicans enjoy their stay at ‘The Chateau’ while Pennsylvania families continue to struggle through the coronavirus pandemic,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesman Brendan Welch. “This is a grimly appropriate backdrop for these out-of-touch politicians to dine lavishly while they scheme to keep Pennsylvania’s minimum wage at $7.25 an hour — the lowest in the country.”
