Mango And Wagner Champion Trumpcare Despite CBO Confirmation Of Catastrophic Impact On PA

Paul Mango and Scott Wagner refuse to drop their support of Trumpcare despite the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office report that confirms that Trumpcare will have a catastrophic impact on Pennsylvania.

“Paul Mango and Scott Wagner are continuing to champion Trumpcare despite the fact that it would increase premiums for working families by 20% next year, charge an age tax on older Pennsylvanians, throw seniors who are in nursing homes on the street, strip care from Pennsylvanians with pre-existing conditions, and make prescription drugs unaffordable for millions,” said Beth Melena, communications director for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. “Is there anything that could make Paul Mango and Scott Wagner pull their support from Trumpcare or will they continue to support this catastrophic bill no matter how many Pennsylvanians lose health care or seniors are forced out of their nursing homes?”

“Donald Trump’s budget that is expected to be unveiled on Tuesday will include $800 billion in cuts to Medicaid — a move that underscores the President’s resolve to significantly downsize the federal program even as Republican lawmakers are clashing over the issue in Congress. The $800 billion reduction, confirmed to CNN Sunday evening by a senior administration official, assumes that the GOP health care bill that the House passed earlier this month would become law, that official said.” [CNN, 5/22/17]
