MASTRIANO’S FALSE ELECTION CLAIMS CALLED OUT AT JANUARY 6TH HEARING

Doug Mastriano’s election lies were called out during Bill Barr’s testimony today, and Bill McSwain totally debunked them.

PENNSYLVANIA — Today, Doug Mastriano was once again called out for spreading dangerous lies and baseless conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election — this time by Trump’s former Attorney General Bill Barr in front of a Congressional committee. In sworn testimony in front of the January 6th Committee, Barr said Trump’s former U.S. Attorney Bill McSwain totally debunked Mastriano’s election lies, saying “he mixed apples and oranges.”

Mastriano has continued to spread those same kinds of election lies throughout his campaign, even hiring election denier Jenna Ellis as his “senior legal advisor.” Republican nominee for Governor Doug Mastriano “is perhaps the state’s most prominent promoter of former President Donald Trump’s lie that widespread fraud cost him the 2020 election,” and he led the effort to overturn the 2020 election, walked past police barricades on January 6th at the U.S. Capitol, and has been subpoenaed by the Jan. 6 Committee.

“Doug Mastriano has spent nearly two years lying and spreading conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election, and today Donald Trump’s former Attorney General called out those lies in sworn testimony in front of the January 6th Committee,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesperson Marisa Nahem. “Mastriano has made re-litigating the 2020 election and spreading baseless conspiracy theories the centerpiece of his campaign, but he can’t escape the truth.”
