MIDDLETOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL VICE PRESIDENT SCOTT SITES SENDS SEXIST EMAIL TO HD-105 CANDIDATE BRITTNEY RODAS

PENNSYLVANIA — Last month, Scott Sites, the Vice President of the Middletown Borough Council and member of the Borough’s planning commission, sent a vicious sexist email to HD-105 candidate Brittney Rodas’ campaign.

Here’s what Sites said in his email: “I want to know if you ever tested positive for an std? You feel that it is so important for Andrew Lewis to discuss his positive Covid-19 test so please provide answer. You are a disgrace and I can’t wait for you to lose.”

The message can be found here.

“This is disgraceful language to use against a public servant,” said Brendan Welch, communications director for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. “Brittney Rodas is a courageous fighter for affordable health care and opportunity for working families. It’s sad that elected Republicans like Scott Sites have to resort to vicious, sexist attacks to try to keep her down. We call on Sites to apologize and resign, and Rep. Andrew Lewis to denounce sexist attacks against his opponent.”

Sites, a Republican, served two terms on the Borough Council before deciding not to run again in 2015. He was elected to the Council again in 2019.
