NEW: OVER 374,000 PEOPLE NOW SEEING REDUCED HEALTH CARE COSTS IN PENNSYLVANIA THANKS TO AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN

Many Americans saved $800 per person last year, and thousands per family because of American Rescue Plan affordability measures – no thanks to a single Pennsylvania Republican in Congress

PENNSYLVANIA – Ahead of tomorrow’s anniversary of President Joe Biden signing the American Rescue Plan into law, new data shows that 374,000 people in Pennsylvania are now seeing reduced health care costs – no thanks to every single Republican member of Pennsylvania’s congressional delegation, which unanimously voted against the relief law.

This news comes as Republicans have doubled down on their promise to deliver an agenda of hiking taxes and raising health insurance premiums if they take power in November. On Monday, Republican Senator Ron Johnson confirmed that some Republicans still want to repeal the Affordable Care Act. That would mean that 100 million Americans with preexisting conditions would lose insurance protections, Americans with private insurance could see their premiums skyrocket, 21 million Americans would lose their insurance, and more. Meanwhile, National Republican Senatorial Committee Chair Rick Scott’s agenda would raise taxes on over 35% of Pennsylvanians.

“Since President Biden and Democrats’ American Rescue Plan was signed into law a year ago this week, more than 374,000 Pennsylvanians have seen their health care costs go down – no thanks to a single Republican in Congress. It’s simple: while Democrats are working to lower costs for Americans, Republicans are running on an agenda of tax hikes and raised premiums,” said Jason Henry, Pennsylvania Democratic Party executive director.
