Ahead of today’s likely vote on the disastrous GOP health care repeal plan, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party encouraged Pennsylvanians to call their congressman to tell them to vote no on the plan.
“This legislation is dead wrong for Pennsylvania. It is imperative that you call your Congressman immediately and tell him to VOTE NO,” said Sinceré Harris, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. “This bill would increase premiums across the board and charge an age tax on Pennsylvania’s seniors. People ages 50 and higher could pay a premium that is as much as 5x more than they currently pay for the same or less coverage.”
“Trump and Ryan’s healthcare plan will gut funding to Medicaid, which would rip care away from hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians, including over 125,000 people who have received treatment for a substance use disorder. Make no mistake – this bill would have devastating effects on middle-class families, seniors, and children.”
