Congressman Pat Meehan voted for the GOP’s budget plan that would raise taxes on millions of middle class Pennsylvanians and give costly tax breaks to the wealthy and big corporations. Constituents of Meehan’s district came out to protest his vote.
“Our district is one of the hardest hit in the country by the elimination of the state and local tax deduction,” said Joan Wider of Springfield. “The fact that Representative Meehan sides with the rich and big corporations over Pennsylvania families shows why he needs to be replaced.”
“Representative Meehan’s actions will only deepen the tax burden on middle class families,” said Ruth Ann Davidson of Ridley. “I want Meehan to explain why putting big corporations ahead of us was the right decision.”
