Earlier today, a Scott Wagner co-sponsored bill SB 300, passed out of the finance committee and is headed to the floor of the Senate. This bill would defund Planned Parenthood, which provides health services for over 90,000 Pennsylvanians, and decrease women’s access to birth control and cancer screenings and treatments.
“Harrisburg insider Scott Wagner is determined to hurt women and prevent them from accessing quality, affordable health care, and today his bill to defund Planned Parenthood moved another step closer to passing the senate,” said Beth Melena, communications Director of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. “Defunding Planned Parenthood and denying women access to important health care like mammograms and other cancer screenings, as well as birth control is just one way Wagner is working to hurt women. He is also pushing the most extreme and restrictive anti-abortion bill in the country that would criminalize abortion. Scott Wagner is simply shameful.”
