SEN. PHILLIPS-HILL PROPOSES BILL TO SOLVE A PROBLEM IN NEW YORK, NOT PENNSYLVANIA

York Senator Introduces Plan To Prohibit “Requirement of Vaccine Passports” Despite Admitting No Plan Exists in PA

Harrisburg, PA – Republican Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill yesterday proposed a bill to prohibit the requirement of vaccine passports in Pennsylvania. The problem? No such plan exists in the Commonwealth. WITF reported:

“Republican state Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill of York County sponsored the bill, which would prohibit ‘the requirement of vaccine passports,’ according to her memo. Phillips-Hill noted that Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf repeatedly has said he has no plan to require such proof of vaccination.

So what problem is Senator Phillips-Hill trying to solve? Apparently one in New York:

“’Recently, it was announced that Governor Cuomo will implement the first-in-the-nation vaccine passport, that would be required for citizens to return to a normal way of life,’ Phillips-Hill wrote. Requiring a vaccine passport for Pennsylvanians to live their lives day-to-day represents an extreme government intrusion into people’s personal lives.'”

“Kristin Phillips-Hill seems to think she represents New York instead of York,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesman Brendan Welch. “Our commonwealth faces serious issues including the lowest minimum wage in the nation and $7 billion in federal COVID relief that Harrisburg Republicans have yet to make a plan to distribute — but of course, they’re wasting our time with another irrelevant solution in search of a non-existent problem.”
