Donald Trump released a budget today that will hurt every single Pennsylvanian and take the commonwealth backward. In addition to the draconian cuts to education, environmental, and manufacturing programs that have already been proposed, Trump’s budget slashes Medicaid by $800 million, taking resources away from our children and cutting funding to seniors programs.
“Donald Trump simply does not care about what matters most to Pennsylvanians. His budget, which breaks countless campaign promises, seeks to gut programs that Pennsylvania’s middle-class, rural communities, seniors, and children depend on,” said Marcel L. Groen, Chairman of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. “Every Republican would do well to consider the consequences of supporting this budget. Pennsylvania’s Republican representatives have already voted to jeopardize Pennsylvanians’ health care and hike their premiums. Gubernatorial candidates Scott Wagner and Paul Mango have refused to reject Donald Trump’s disastrous cuts to Medicaid. The Pennsylvania Democratic Party intends to hold them accountable.”
