What’s On Radical Pat Meehan’s Christmas List? An End To Health Care Coverage For 1 Million Pennsylvanians

Radical Meehan Stocking Stuffers for Pennsylvanians: empowering insurance companies to deny health care coverage because of a pre-existing condition, ending subsidies that help middle class Pennsylvanians afford health care and kicking young adults off their parents’ health insurance

Meehan’s Replacement Plan? A Big Lump of Coal

With just two days to go before Christmas, radical Congressman Pat Meehan is set to receive one of the biggest items on his wish list: an end to health care coverage for 1 million Pennsylvanians. Congressional Republicans, with Pat Meehan leading the way, are set to repeal health care coverage for 20 million Americans, including 1 million Pennsylvanians, during the first week of the new Congress. Meehan’s vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) will give insurance companies the power to once again deny Pennsylvanians health care because of a pre-existing condition, will end subsidies that help the middle class afford health care and will kick young adults off their parents’ health insurance. For Pennsylvanians who have been waiting six years to find out what radical Meehan’s replacement plan is, all they will get is a nice lump of coal.

“This is going to be a special Christmas for radical Congressman Pat Meehan, who is set to finally get one of the biggest items on his right wing wish list: an end to health care coverage for 1 million Pennsylvanians,” Brandon Cwalina, spokesperson for the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, said. “Hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians will spend this holiday season wondering if they will have health care coverage in the new year; if Congressman Meehan gets his way, they won’t. Despite being in Congress six years, radical Pat Meehan’s nonexistent replacement plan isn’t any better than a lump of coal.”
