After weeks of protests at both Rep. Pat Meehan’s and Rep. Costello’s offices, activists learned that they will not support ACA repeal in its current form. Neither Meehan nor Costello, opposed the initial repeal bill and voted to advance it out of committee back in March.
Activists in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District held a rally today to protest cruel cuts to funding for women’s health services in the renewed GOP health care repeal bill and Pennsylvania SB 300, the most extreme anti-choice bill in the country that would defund Planned Parenthood.
“Republicans must stop their political posturing and work with both sides of the aisle on bettering the Affordable Care Act to increase access to care, drive down prices, and improve quality health care for all Pennsylvanians,” said grassroots activist Ruth Ann Davidson. “Health care for our parents, children, and families is too important to be subject to political games. Pennsylvanians will continue to stand against brazen attempts to strip people of access to vital health care services.”
