PENNSYLVANIA — Pennsylvania Democratic Party Chair Marcel L. Groen released the following statement on Donald Trump’s economic plans and their detrimental effect on middle-class families:
“Like his business ventures, Donald Trump’s economic agenda greatly benefits billionaires like himself and hurts hard-working Americans. A Trump administration would cost our country 3.5 million jobs, cause housing prices to fall by an average of $100,000 and drive interest rates through the roof, all while giving the wealthiest households a tax break of $275,000 per year.
“What’s worse, Pennsylvania Republicans, including Pat Toomey and others, seem to believe that Donald Trump is qualified to make economic decisions on behalf of the American people. Donald Trump and the Republican agenda would willfully plunge the rest of us back into the Great Recession, a time marked by foreclosure signs and the loss of 800,000 jobs per month.
“Secretary Clinton laid out an economic plan that provides fairness, equality, and security for everyone. She proposed the largest investment in job creation since World War Two, debt-free college for students who want to attend, and will fight for a raise in the minimum wage. These are real solutions; solutions that will help build and grow our economy. This choice could not be more clear.”
