Do the GOP PA Senate candidates support Rick Scott’s plan to raise taxes on America’s working class?

PENNSYLVANIAToday National Republican Senatorial Committee Chair Rick Scott released his agenda, which included a plan to raise taxes on millions of Americans, including seniors:

Republican Sen. Rick Scott of Florida made a bold move today, unveiling a 31-page blueprint of the kind of ideas he wants his party to pursue when it’s in the majority. Much of the document reads like a right-wing fantasy, filled with stale, offensive, and wildly unrealistic elements.

But the senator added an economic idea that’s likely to get some attention in the coming months. From Scott’s plan:

“All Americans should pay some income tax to have skin in the game, even if a small amount. Currently over half of Americans pay no income tax.”

Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesperson Jack Doyle issued the following statement:

“The head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee just promised to try to raise taxes on millions of working class Americans. Pennsylvania voters deserve to know if the Pennsylvania GOP Senate field supports this effort from a national Republican party leader.”
