PA Democratic Party Announces Candidate For Special Election In The 48th House District

The Executive Committee of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, after receiving a recommendation from the Washington County Democratic Committee, voted to nominate a candidate for the special election in the 48th House District, which will be held on May 15, 2018. The committee nominated Clark A. Mitchell, Jr., as the Democratic Party’s candidate for the special election.

State Party Chairman Marcel L. Groen released the following statement:

“We need to elect more people who will stand up for working Pennsylvanians, which is why I am proud that we have nominated Clark A. Mitchell, Jr., to run for state representative in the 48th House District. Pennsylvania’s workers have been under attack from Republicans in Harrisburg for too long. Clark, who has already been endorsed by the United Steelworkers and other unions, will be a strong voice that we need in defense of labor in Harrisburg. The people of the 48th House District deserve a state representative who will continue to fight for them, and Clark A. Mitchell, Jr., is that candidate.”

Executive Director of the Pennsylvania House Democratic Campaign Committee, Nathan Davidson, released the following statement:

“The Pennsylvania House Democratic Caucus is excited to support Clark Mitchell, who will be a strong advocate for the priorities of the 48th district and bring a passionate voice of common sense to the General Assembly. Campaigns are won by candidates who are a reflection of their community and Clark is not only a compelling candidate with deep family connections in the district, but he shares the values of Washington County voters. House Democrats are looking forward to Election Day, and adding another talented Member to our caucus.”
