PA Democratic Party Announces Communications Team

Today, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party announced their communications team for the new cycle.

“Our communications team is essential to spreading the message that Democrats are fighting for good paying jobs and improving access to quality, affordable health care while Republicans are making life harder for working families by consistently choosing big business and corporations over working Americans,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party Executive Director Sinceré Harris. “I am confident that the experience and knowledge of Max, Beth, and Brandon will ensure the reelection of both Senator Bob Casey and Governor Tom Wolf and help to elect Democrats statewide.”

Max Steele – Senior Communications Advisor

Max Steele served as Communications Director for the Florida Democratic Party during the 2016 cycle, where he worked with federal, state and local campaigns on messaging and press strategy. Steele previously worked as Press Secretary for the FDP and Deputy Communications Director for Alex Sink’s 2014 congressional campaign.

“I’m excited to join the Pennsylvania Democratic Party’s team as we head into such an important election cycle. I look forward to working with so many talented Pennsylvania Democrats as we defeat Republicans across the ticket and send Bob Casey back to the Senate”

Beth Melena – Communications Director

Beth Melena was most recently a deputy press secretary in Governor Tom Wolf’s office. Prior to her work in government, she served as Communications Director for Governor-elect Tom Wolf’s Inaugural Committee and was a deputy communications director on Governor Wolf’s 2014 campaign.

“I’m thrilled at the opportunity to work with Pennsylvania Democrats to ensure that we turn our extraordinary energy and grassroots momentum into electoral victories for Democrats statewide.”

Brandon Cwalina – Press Secretary

Brandon Cwalina has worked in the Pennsylvania Democratic Party’s press office since April 2016. He previously worked as a press assistant at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and as a communications & research associate on the Campaign for a Fresh Start.

“I am proud to work with the Pennsylvania Democratic Party as we hold Donald Trump accountable, and I am excited to help elect excellent Democratic candidates to every position on the ballot.”
