The Connecticut hedge fund executive continues to face attacks based on his record on China & trade
PENNSYLVANIA — This was definitely a week to forget for Connecticut hedge fund executive David McCormick, who continued to come under attack for his record on China and trade. See below for a review of McCormick’s terrible week.
- Philadelphia Inquirer, David McCormick’s Longtime Praise For China And Trade Could Bite His PA. Senate Run: “As he courts Donald Trump’s endorsement, McCormick’s past statements and his hedge fund’s investment in China represent perhaps his greatest political liability.”
- NBC News, Power & Politics interview with David McCormick: When asked by Dasha Burns about his business in China, McCormick responded “I’ve been blessed”.
- NBC News, Back-And-Forth Over China Dominates Pennsylvania’s Airwaves: “After weeks of accusations from campaign opponents that he’s too friendly with China, Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate David McCormick is taking to the airwaves to fight back, launching a new ad highlighting his military service and tough-on-China stances.”
- The Dom Giordano Program, Interview with Jeff Bartos: On McCormick: “You know, here in Philadelphia and all across Pennsylvania, communities have been hollowed out and those jobs shipped overseas for two, three decades by McKinsey consultants. And one of my opponents, who started his career as a McKinsey consultant, has made millions of dollars investing in China and made millions of dollars shipping jobs overseas and he’s going to have to answer for that. But I think, first and foremost, he’s going to have to answer for where have you been the last two years ? And I assure you, it wasn’t in Pennsylvania. And two, what have you done to help Pennsylvanians? The answer is nothing. And three, that you get to the China question, he’s got a lot to answer for.”
- The Larry Kudlow Show, Interview with David McCormick: In an interview with Larry Kudlow, McCormick came out against the Make it in America bill, which will improve our competition with China, and came out in support of tax cuts for the wealthy.
